Abstract Grewia abutilifolia is a threatened medicinal plant having immense unexplored therapeutic activities. Four different types of extracts (Ethanolic extract, Petroleum ether soluble fraction, Chloroform soluble fraction and aqueous soluble fraction) of Grewia abutilifolia plantwere prepared and evaluated for Preliminary phytochemical constituents. All the extracts were screened for antimicrobial activity against Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enteritidis, Trichophyton rubrum, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus niger. Ethanolic extract of Grewia abutilifolia showed potent antimicrobial activity against Enterococcus faecalis pathogen whereas petroleum extract of Grewia abutilifolia showed potent antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella enteritidis.
