Abstract This article describes the synthesis of new benzylidenehydrazone derivatives (4a-c). These compounds were synthesized by first designing N-substituted benzaldehyde derivatives (3a-c) through the action of cyclic amine with 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzaldehyde (2). Condensation of these aldehydes (3a-c) with tosylhydrazine led to hydrazones derivatives (4a-c). The structures of these compounds were characterized by 1H, 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) analysis. Three of them were identified by X-ray crystallography.
