Abstract A series of N1,N2-bis [(2-substitutedphenyl)ethyl]phthalamide (compounds 1-10) and 3-nitro-N1, N2-bis [(2-substitutedphenyl)ethyl]phthalamide (compounds 11-20) were synthesized. Their structures and purity were analyzed by IR, 1H-NMR spectra and elemental analysis. The compounds were evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxicity against the MCF7 and Hep3B cancer cell lines. Cytotoxicity screening revealed that N1,N2-bis[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)ethyl]phthalamide (compound 5), 3-nitro-N1,N2-bis[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl) ethyl]phthalamide […]

Comparison of two synthesis methods of a pharmaceutical excipient used as conservative
Abstract In pharmacy, Benzoic acid is used as conservativeof pharmaceutical preparations and it’s classified as notorious effect excipient whose declaration is mandatory in the leaflets and on the packaging of medicines. We synthesized this excipient in Therapeutic laboratoryof pharmacy department of Sidi Bel-Abbes according to two different experimental protocols, the first from toluene by oxidation […]
GC-MS analysis and Antimicrobial Activity of Sudanese Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn. (Myrtaceae) Essential Oil
Abstract Eucalyptus oil has been used traditionally for bronchitis and asthma. The oil which is plentiful in leaves has also been used against diabetes, cystitis, malaria, kidney disorders, leucorrhoea and laryngitis. The anticancer activity of this oil has been studied in vivo. The GC-MS analysis revealed the presence of 42 components. Major constituents are : […]

Investigations of the Possible Utility of Wheat Germ Oil versus Diclofenac Sodium Induced Liver Toxicity in Rats
Abstract Diclofenac (DICLO) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug, used as an analgesic and antipyretic agent. Hepatotoxicity is uncommon with NSAIDs but with diclofenac becomes lethal complication. Wheat germ oil (WGO) is a potent antioxidant. Therefore, twenty four male rats were divided into four groups. First group served as control, second group received WGO (270 […]
Effect of Sida Acuta ethanolic Leaf Extract on the Oxidative Stability of Groundnut Oils
Abstract Natural and biosynthesized phytocompounds have gained significant attention in the food industry because of their non-controversial health and safety benefits as compared with chemically synthesized antioxidants. However, no natural biosynthesized phyto-compounds has been commercially available and used in routine food processing. This study evaluates the antioxidant property of Sidaacuta plant commonly used by many […]
The number of conformers explains the high toxicity of novichok agents
Abstract In this work, molecular modelling, by semi-empirical (PM6) method is employed to study Novichok A-230 and Novichok A-234, in order to verify, by comparison of parameters, what is the reason (or reasons) for such much higher toxicity of novichok in comparison with VX. Taking into account the obtained results, is proposed that a higher […]
